In today’s fast-paced world, showing appreciation can sometimes fall by the wayside. However, expressions of gratitude are essential in maintaining strong relationships and encouraging positive behavior. One such expression that has gained popularity in recent years is the phrase “Toss a Coin to Your Helper.” Originating from a popular TV show, this phrase has evolved into a cultural phenomenon and is now used to convey thanks in a playful and meaningful way. But what exactly does it mean, and how has it become a part of our everyday language?
Regarding game cheats, we’ve observed Coin Helper bundled with some of the most renowed and widely-played games, including (but not limited to): Extrim and Anxious (Counter-Strike Global Offensive cheats), Cyberpunk 2077 Trainer (Cyberpunk 2077 cheat), PUBG and CoD cheats, and Minecraft. Additionally, we’ve detected this malware within a Windows 11 ISO image from unofficial sources (as highlighted on Twitter). Alarmingly, Coin Helper has also been found bundled with legitimate software such as Logitech webcam drivers.
Our research led us to this discovery because we also observed the spread of these droppers via My Kings’ clipboard stealer payload, as detailed in the previous part of this blog series. However, we cannot conclusively link Coin Helper to the My Kings botnet. On the contrary, based on the multitude of infection sources, it seems Coin Helper leveraged My Kings’ clipboard stealer as an additional malware delivery mechanism.
The Psychology of Gratitude
Gratitude is more than just good manners; it has significant psychological benefits for both the giver and the receiver. When you show gratitude, it strengthens your relationships, enhances your emotional well-being, and promotes positive social behaviors. The phrase “Toss a Coin to Your Helper” is a modern, culturally relevant way of expressing this gratitude.
When someone hears “Toss a Coin to Your Helper,” they’re likely to feel a sense of pride and validation, knowing their efforts were recognized. This can foster a positive feedback loop, encouraging the helper to continue their good deeds. From a psychological perspective, this simple act of gratitude can lead to increased feelings of self-worth, better mood, and even reduced stress levels.
Moreover, expressing gratitude can also benefit the person offering it. It can shift your focus from negative to positive experiences, promoting a more optimistic outlook. Coin Mining
Coin mining, also known as cryptocurrency mining, is the process through which new digital coins are created and transactions are verified on a blockchain network. It involves using powerful computers to solve complex mathematical problems, which in turn confirm and secure transactions on the blockchain.
In the early days of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, mining could be done with basic computers. However, as the difficulty of mining has increased, more advanced hardware, such as ASICs (Application-Specific Integrated Circuits) and powerful GPUs, is required. This evolution has led to the rise of large-scale mining farms and pools, where multiple miners combine their computational power to increase their chances of earning rewards.
